You simply go to video/upload and then accept the agreement that you own it. Click on "browse" to find your video on your hard drive. Don't forget to add a descriptions and some tags to make it easier for others to find your video.

Tags are single descriptive words that are used by the system to identify information such as photos, videos, bogs and profiles. These words are turned into links so people can click them to find the information you have uploaded. Using tags helps others to be able to quickly find stuff, so try to always add them. Adding tags to your blog also increases the size of the tag cloud on your blog page. If you are stuck for what tags to add, simply add a few words to describe what the content is - for example "my bug".

Go into "my profile" from top right link after you login, click on large picture to go to "My Photos" then click on a little picture at bottom and check make primary.

Headline The headline is the title that will be displayed when people visit your profile page - it displays at the top of the page Description This will be displayed on your profile page and readable by those who visit your page. Once you have submitted your information you will receive an email with a link to activate your profile, you will not be able to post or view premium content until you have activated your account.

You can log in by clicking on the Login Link in the banner, then typing in your username and password into the pop-up window that appears

To add images into the body of your post you will first need to have an image uploaded on the internet somewhere (somewhere like vdubber) To add an image to your post, place the cursor where you want the image to be, click on the image button in the editor - it's the button on the second row with a picture of a tree on it. Clicking this will open up new dialog (make sure your popup blocker is set to allow popups from vdubber). Here you simply need to add the URL for the image + a title and description, then click on the appearance tab and choose how you want to display the image. The alignment sets how text will be displayed near to the image - I usually use left or right to make the image appear within the text. you should also add a value for the vertical and horizontal space - this will create a bit of whitespace around the image to move the text away from it. Lastly - choose whether you want it to have a border, and what size it should be (the dimensions are in pixels). When you click on the insert button you will then see the image in your post. You can then re-size it or even drag it to a different position. You can add as many images this way as you desire.

To add an avatar you need to upload a photo to your profile. Thuis can be done by clicking on the 'Profile Photos' link in the link bar on your profile page. Then simply browse to a photo on your computer and type in a title to upload it to your Profiles Photo Gallery. These photos are shown in a slideshow on your profile page. To select one as your avatar - simply go to the 'Profile Photos' page and click on the photo you want to use - then click the "Make Primary' Button. The selected photo will now be used as your avatar for the forums / blog posts / comments / chat / etc... Tip - Use a square image for avatars as they display better

When you are logged in you will see a link in the banner bar for 'My Presence'. clicking on this link will open up a floating window (make sure you have popups enabled). This floating windows is similar in function to your MSN messenger or Skype control, where you can see all of your friends listed, and also see who is online. You can switch between viewing a list showing who is online and a list showing all of your friends by clicking the 'Online' and ' Friends' tabs at the top of the screen. If you want to hide your status simply click on the smily face at the bottom left to change your status to hidden. When people are offline you can send them a message by clicking on the message icon, this will open up the compose a message screen in your browser and allow you to send a message to them. When people aer online, you can also communicate by 'Instant Messenger'. Clicking on the messenger link opens a chat dialog where you can talk directly with the other person. After you have sent them a message they will get a popup messagebox in thier browser alerting them with your message, they can then accept or decline the message. If they accept, the chat window will open up on thier computer and then can chat to you - just like MSN messenger. When you are using Instant Messenger, you can also view the persons profile, send files and even use video chat. If at any time you need more help whilst using the Instant Messenger, click on the question mark icon to the top right of the control to display a help menu.

You might have noticed the link on peoples profile pages called 'Shaka' and might be wondering what a 'shaka' is. Well a shaka is a Hawaiian greeting meaning 'all right', it's a hand gesture where the thumb and little finger point outwards - kinda like a 'thumbs up' with your little finger pointing down. Some of you may recognise it as the 'Hang Loose' sign. Over time the Shaka has been adopted by the VW community, some say that the extended thumb and little finger make the sign of the VW, others say it's use comes from the laid back attitude that VW owners have, but whatever it's origins, we have adopted it here on the Vdubber site. When you send a shaka the recipient simply gets a message and an email that they have received a shaka from you - there's no need to write anything - it's just like driving along the road and seeing a VW come in the other direction and making the Shaka sign to them. If they like, they can respond by sending one back. So why would I want to send a shaka? Well, maybe you dig thier ride, or thier group, maybe you think that they have been real helpfull in the forums, you can send a shaka for whatever reason you like, it's up to you. Shaka Brah

To add music to your profile, click on the spanner icon in the bottom right of the music player. This will open up a dialog that will allow you to upload and manage your profile music library. Make sure that your popup blocker is set to allow popups from vdubber, or the dialog will be prevented from opening.

There are two places you can add images - one is the site gallery, the other is to your profile. To add an image to the site gallery, hover over the photos link in the menu, and then click on the upload photo button that appears in the menu underneath. You should now be taken to the upload agreement. Read the agreement, and if you agree with it, press the 'I agree' button. You can now browse to your image and fill in the text fields, to add details such as a title, tags and a description. The more info the better. Tags are especially important as the will make it easier for others to find you photos. Once you are finished, click on the 'Upload File' button to upload the image. Please note that the image size is limited to 500k. This should be large enough for most normal digital camera images. If you have a higher resolution camera, you might find that you have to scale your images to make them small enough. 800x600 pixels is a perfect size for the web - this normally gives an image size of approximately 200k.

To add images to your profile, click on the 'My Account' link at the top of the page. Click on the 'My Photo Gallery' image to be taken to you profile photo gallery. At the top of the page you will see a box where you can enter a description, and browse to an image on your computer to upload. You can also set the default picture by viewing the image and clicking the 'make Primary' button - this will then be the default image used for your avatar. Please note, square images work best for your avatar,

To add an event, click on the 'Add Event' link to open up a page where you can enter the information for the event. To do this you need to be a member (this helps prevent spam) The info you can enter is as follows - Title - Tags these appear in the tag cloud on the main page. - Description field, this has a word style editor where you can include pictures and format text - Country - City - Place - Venue / Event Photo - Event start - Location (Google map) Clicking on the 'suggest' button automatically selects location based on data in country, city and place fields, if the location needs adjusting, or cannot be determined, you can browse to it by zooming and panning the map. The location + zoom level set here are remembered and displayed when viewing the event. All events that have map locations entered are automatically added to the main event map on the front page.
