Was just cruising the AVWSA forums and noticed that there is a a Speedweek event at Verneukpan in 2010. The 2009 event was unfortunately canceled due to financial issues, which was a shame as the event was also to to commemorate the 80 years since Malcolm Campbell broke the world land speed record at Verneukpan during 1929.

There is also some talk about hosting Andy Greens attempt for a land speed record (1600Km/h) at Verneukpan during 2010 - 2011, although this seems to be dependent on conditions

I've posted a message on the forums to let them know of our efforts.

Mick.
