Slamfest Part 1
Made a start on building a narrowed beam tonight. Plan is to build two beams - one for my bus and one for The Jimps.
Managed to strip the beam down tonight with the help of the Jimp ready for measuring and chopping. I also started to make up a jig to hold the side plates.
The side plate design is already done and I've managed to source some 10mm plate all I need to do now is fire up the plasma and cut them out.
Hopefully won't take too long to get it together. The hardest part is probably going to be getting the old beam out of the bus.

Hey Mick,sideplates look good.How many degrees caster did you build in? Or is it adjustable on the bay beams? I'm not too familiar with the new fangled modern stuff.Did you get any distortion in the needle bearing races when you welded the plates on? Looking good,you've been cruising in the nose bleed section for too long
There's about 10mm setback which is probably about 5 degrees. There was no distortion in the bearing seats but did get a little burn through in a couple of places. No real dramas though - just needs a lick with the dremel. Hoping to get it in ready for Parkplatz this weekend but still got to modify the trailing arms to move the shocks outwards.
